ARE DREAMS ALWAYS TO COME TRUE?

Dreams are a lifeline of every individual. They can be a driving force to achieve one's goal in life. But are dreams always fulfilled. Many a times we come across certain successful personalities in our life who have reached their accomplishment not just by following their dreams, but by a chance which changed the course of their life. Dreams do come true, but as the famous saying goes,"truth is stranger than fiction"; that cherished dream does not provide us the satisfaction which maybe something else could have done. A life of a dedicated student revolves around his striving to reach his goal. But its not necessary that life too moves as per your convinience, it hsa it own flow. So what would be the right way tolead your life- flow along the course of life or chase your dream till it is achieved...Both are right, as if one of them fails the other would bring the deserved and desired results, which ultimately would lead to happiness and satisfaction.

Cancer

Cancer is a class of diseases which occur due to enormous and  out-of-control cell growth. There are over 100 different types of cancer, and each is classified by the type of cell that is initially affected.

Cancer harms the body when damaged cells divide uncontrollably to form lumps or masses of tissue called tumors. Tumors can grow and interfere with the digestive, nervous, and circulatory systems, and they can release hormones that alter body function. Tumors that stay in one spot and demonstrate limited growth are generally considered to be benign.

More dangerous tumors form when any of the two things occur:-
1)A cancerous cell manages to move throughout the body with the help of blood. During this process healthy tissues will also get affected.
2)Sometime cell manages to divide and grow, making new blood vessels to feed itself in a process.

When a tumor successfully spreads to other parts of the body and grows, invading and destroying other healthy tissues, it is said to have metastasized. This process itself is called metastasis, and the result is a serious condition that is very difficult to treat.

Because of certain molecular interactions between cells and the scaffolding that holds them in place, cancerious cells become unstuck at the original tumor site, they become dislodged, move on and then reattach themselves at a new site.In this way cancer actually spread.

Less pains more gains; Invest in mutual funds

Mutual Fund is popularly understood as investment tool which provides tax benefits. Whereas some people find it the right way to invest because of affordability, liquidity, professional management and most importantly for getting maximum returns by effectively utilizing hard earned money.
A Mutual Fund is a body corporate registered with Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) that pools up the money from individual/corporate investor and invests the same on behalf of the investor/unit holders, in equity shares, government securities, Bonds etc.  and distribute the profit. In other words, a mutual fund allows an investor to indirectly take a position on the basket of assets (investment securities).
One should not mistake Mutual Funds to be risk free investments. In fact, investing in MF contains the same risk as investing in Market, the only different being that due to Professional management of funds the controllable risks are substantially reduced.

Education and Sports

Sports and education have always been wanted to go hand in hand, but it seldom happens. The Indian parent are fond of the saying " पड़ोगे लिखोगे तोह बनोगे नवाब खेलोगे कूदोगे होगे ख़राब "(if you study only then you will be considered a noble man, else if you only play you will be spoil and will not progress). They try to put this thing across the mind of the child that sports need to be for enjoyment and health, but to make a successful man you need to shelve your sporting instincts and curb your desire to be even remotely associated with sports (an occasional game of badminton, cricket, soccer, chess doesn't make you inclined to sports thoroughly nor does watching all these from the couch does).
Also there is a dearth of administration being non-compulsive and even at the highest level talent goes unnoticed for the want of fulfilment of need of the faces which matter. That further strengthens the belief of not pushing the child in this direction as it is generally thought that there isn't any light at the end of the tunnel, there is only a fake train coming your way.

“MOVE ON…”

WOW…. We are in second decade of 21st century and we have to change our way of thinking as per time. We are in the age of Entrepreneurs who plays a very important role in the development of an economy. Gone are the days when society had a trend that Engineer’s son/daughter will become engineer and Doctor’s son/daughter will become doctor. Today’s youth is thinking much beyond the typical societal trends. They want to do something new, achieve new heights and lead the world. They don’t want to work for others. In fact they want people to work for them. They have different dreams in their eyes as now they understand their own qualities and capabilities. They wish to be on the top of the organization and prove their talent.
To all such people, I would say move on, u have that X-Factor in you. Don’t dare to look back because you know what you have done yesterday. Just don’t repeat the work which was not satisfactory for you in the past. Always look ahead and use your potential. Do something creative and innovative, accept challenges, be disciplined and have enough confidence in yourself. Become successful ENTREPRENEURS and mark your presence on the world map of business.
Always remember the following two quotes.
1. To attain success in life “Don’t stop, no need to run, just keep walking”.
2. “Success comes after experience and experience comes after bad experiences”.

The Palace of Illusions

Hi friends! Here I am again with another novel and believe me it is as exciting as the last one (if you remember ‘The Colour Purple’). Now this novel ‘The Palace of Illusions’ by Chitra Banerjee Devakaruni is another novel that is from the perspective of a woman. And to our surprise it is a retelling of the mythological, world famous epic- Mahabharata and that too from the point of view of Draupadi. And the interesting part is the title which again can be interpreted in number of ways- like this ‘story like palace’ is an ‘illusion’ because of the fact that it is told from the point of view of a woman or it is something that we can only dream of or something to do with a human mind which is a palace of undying, unending illusions!
The Palace of Illusions takes us back to the time that is half history, half myth and wholly magical. It gives us a new interpretation of this ancient tale. The novel traces Draupadi’s  life starting from her birth from the fire, prophecy at her arrival, her swayamvar and subsequent marriage to five husbands and so on.
Devakaruni has filled various gaps in her novel like what did Draupadi think about being the ‘girl’ who will change history? What was her relationship with her father, her brother, her mother-in-law, her 5 husbands? And lot many questions. This is a brilliant work of fiction and a worth read.

Self control is the key to success!

We have often heard that hard work is the key to success. But in today’s competitive world, our lives have become so hectic that we often lose our patience, temper and self control. We try to run against the time to accomplish the never- ending tasks at hand. As a result, the quality of life that we lead suffers. Our mind is pre-occupied either with the past or the future. We forget to live in the present, enjoy the precious moments, worrying over petty issues. We can easily overcome this tendency by restraining ourselves and exercising self control. It is easier said than done, but if we make it a daily practice then surely it will reap positive results and we will find our lives changing for the better. The best way to exercise self control is- meditation. Meditation can bring about a balance between the different states of mind. We can find happiness, joy, enthusiasm, efficiency and effectiveness in whatever we do and be successful.

Treat your parents with loving and care

Yesterday i received a message which  touched my heart. I would like to share it with everybody , so that you also experience the same feeling which i did.
A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and play around it every day. He used to climb to the treetop , eat apples and take nap under the shadow. He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him.

Time went by, the little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree every day.
One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad.
“Come and play with me”, the tree asked the boy.
Boy: “I am no longer a kid, I do not play around trees anymore” the boy replied. “I want toys. I need money to buy them.”
Tree: “Sorry, but I do not have money, but you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you will have money.”
The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily. The boy didnt come back after he picked the apples. The tree was sad again.

One day, the boy who now turned into a man returned and the tree was excited to see him again.
“Come and play with me” the tree said.
“I do not have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?”
“Sorry,  I do not have any house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house.” So the man cut all the branches of the tree and left happily.
The tree was glad to see him happy. the  man didnt come  back aftr that. The tree was again lonely and sad.

One hot summer day, the man returned and the tree was delighted.
“Come and play with me!” the tree said.
“I am getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?” said the man.
“Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy.”
So the man cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and didnt  return for a long time.

Finally, the man returned after many years.
“Sorry, my boy. But I do not have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you”, the tree said.
“No problem, I do not have any teeth to bite” the man replied.
Tree : “No more trunk for you to climb on.”
“I am too old for that now” the man said.
“I really cannot give you anything, the only thing left is my dying roots,” the tree said with tears.
“I dont need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years,” the man replied.
“Good! Old tree roots are the best place to lean on and rest, come sit down with me and rest.” The man sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears.

This is a story of everyone. The tree is like our parents. When we were young, we loved to play with our mom and dad.
When we grow up, we leave them; only come to them when we need something or when we are in trouble.
No matter what, parents will always be there and give everything they could just to make you happy.
We take them for granted; we don’t appreciate all they do for us, until it’s too late.

~ Moral ~
Treat your parents with loving care…. For you will know their value, when you see their empty chair…

EDUCATIONAL FUEL (Ode to a Teacher)….A CATALYST FOR THE FLIGHT OF SUCCESS!!

Education is not just about providing the books written by some famous authors to a child for some 17-20 years and splitting up their knowledge into the dimensions of time. It has a more deeper meaning. Education touches the soul of a young blood and nurtures him or her into a emotionally rich , well aware and psychologically right individual with a learning curve that follows throughout life. Educated youth counts to be more responsible towards his or her household as well as the entire society and nation on the whole.
If one gets the positive frame of mind in mid twenties or thirties and is passionate to change the world to be a better place to live in then the major contribution of this state of mind is the right education that enriches the ground of mind with the manure of intellect and confidence
So every teacher has a more responsible and accountable role than that of the people in some other profession. Teachers built minds hence their role is as crucial as the one of a doctor doing a brain surgery to save one.
So every student should respect his or her teacher to the core and should help her in making his  own life a beautiful dream of brave experiences rather than being a nightmare of negative thoughts and mindsets.
Teach a soul…serve the nation!!

You can change the World

Life is full of experiences. Some are good. Some are bad. Some makes us laugh. Some makes us cry. Some lead us through. Some makes us rule. Sometimes we follow our heart. Sometimes we follow our mind. In all d situations its d battle of your thoughts and your actions that makes you through. God provides us with these situations and gives us freedom to think. We think about the ways to overcome it. With this our mind starts ruling us and rather than we ruling it over. We tend to take nasty decisions and thus we stop thinking. All we need is to give few minutes to all the situations.  God has given you all the power to rule over the situations and mould it to bring the best out of it. We only require to go ahead and have faith that “ YES.. YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THE WORLD. SO GO AHEAD AND RULE THE WORLD. GOD HAS MADE YOU THE MASTERS OF IT. YOU ARE HIS REFLECTION, SO REFLECT IT BY YOUR VIRTUES AND DEEDS.”

Nowadays life is so busy that we don’t have time to even breathe. In this rat race, everyone wants to win and in doing so we miss out on very small yet joyful moments of life like joy to see the blooming flower in the morning, feeling the raindrops falling on your face, listening the mellifluous sounds of chirping birds, seeing a baby smile, looking at the sunset and many more.No doubt reaching our destination is important but make this journey an enriched experience full of little joys .So just stop, relax, look around and BREATHE,because after all we all have only one life to live.

INDEPENDENCE – THE TRUE MEANING

Are we in a true sense independent even after 67 years of independence ?  Do we really know the true meaning of independence ?  Ask these questions to yourself. Independence means free in all sense  but are free from our own self.
For us “ i “ is the priority . I did this , i want this , i know it  but do we ever think what the other person did for us , what they think of us , what they want for us. We our living in our own world where we hold the top  most position and rest don’t exist. This all shows our attitude and ego. Life which you don’t live for others has no meaning. It is has no worth.
You can enjoy living if you forget one single letter which is “ i “. Be free from yourself . Be free from your ego , your inhibitions , your superstitions. This is what real independence means.  Life is very unpredictable  and too short . Don’t waste it like this. Understand the true meaning of independence and start loving it.

Choices in Life

The poem 'The Road not Taken' by Robert Frost comes to my mind each time I see a student of a senior secondary class. The poem brings forth the dilemma of the poet to choose the right path for him that would mould his future. Similarly, the students too have taken one step in the direction of their future by choosing their respective streams. Many of them may be still unsure on what they want to do after their golden days i in school come to an end. But what they should know is that this is just the beginning of the innumerable of choices, one has to make in life. This crucial moment would not return and if properly capitalized on this moment it would prove to be the road that for them 'really made all the difference', as did for the poet. Sometimes, one right choice provides one the platform for harnessing one's talent; and if gone the other way round, could lead to hardships to search for one's identity...

Sacrifice

Sacrifice is giving up something that you value. It is letting go of something that you are holding on to or are attached to, which gives you pleasure. Sacrifice brings strength in life. Life without sacrifice is stagnant. It takes you to a higher pedestal. Often people think sacrifice makes life dull and joyless. In fact, it is the sacrifice which makes life worth living.  A life without sacrifice is worth nothing.

Risk It

“So answer this question for yourself: who is the happier man, he who has braved the storm of life and lived or he who has stayed securely on shore and merely existed?”
Two seeds laid side to each other in fertile spring soil. First one said I want to penetrate deep in to the soil and see what is beneath me. I want to flourish out and breathe the fresh air and dance with the warmth of sun. But the second seed said I m afraid of dark and if I come out a child might pluck me while playing so I will only rest.
The seed which took risk became a happy and greener plant whereas the one opted to rest was picked up as food by a hen.
In life what is important is taking risks to be successful not sit back thinking only the fears and negative about situations.
Those of us who refuse to risk and grow gets swallowed by life.
Hence being optimistic and risking are two keys for a happy and successful life.

Ms. Neha Sehgal

Practice what you preach

It is said that practice what you preach. But hardly we ever apply this. One rainy morning when I was ditched by my cab driver to reach the work place, I had to struggle for hiring an auto. Soon my luck favoured and I was on the way to work. as we were heading, we saw a cab being badly destroyed in a road accident. The broken glasses of the window pane could be seen everywhere as the car had smashed itself into some railings. instantly, my auto driver commented over the mishappening and remarked that it is better to be late than sorry. his remark made me think that he is a safe driver. But soon I sensed that he is a preacher and not realistic when I too narrowly escaped an accident. This is the general attitude we all have developed. We expect others to realise their mistakes and comment over them when they are wrong. But hardly we ever introspect for our own actions.

Ms. Sneha Thukral

There is no substitute for hard work

I know you've heard it a thousand times before. But it's true - hard work pays off. If you want to be good, you have to practice, practice, practice. If you don't love something, then don't do it. A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.
All life demands struggle. Those who have everything given to them become lazy, selfish, and insensitive to the real values of life. The very striving and hard work that we so constantly try to avoid is the major building block in the person we are today. I do not know anyone who has got to the top without hard work. That is the recipe. It will not always get you to the top, but should get you pretty near.
I learned the value of hard work by working hard.

The Culture of Physics Education

Physics is generally regarded a difficult subject. However, one seldom examines the basis of this proclaimed difficulty. Beyond making a few superficial statements as to the complexity of the subject, the majority of the students never give a serious thought to the question: ‘Is the subject really difficult?’ The answer is a simple ‘No’. In fact, provided one is unbiased in one’s observation, it is simpler than many other science subjects where, atleast at the elementary level, a lot of burden is placed on the memory. Memory is taxed here also, but to a much lesser extent. As the subject addresses itself to describe the behaviour of the physical aspect of Nature in as completely a qualitative fashion as possible, and therefore uses the most perfect language of Mathematics, one can use the technique of logical deduction most fruitfully to arrive at a great many useful results, starting from a few physical facts.
A great part of the difficulty in our understanding Physics stems from our somewhat cavalier attitude itself, which urges us to degrade this understanding to a purely formal character. No doubt that such an attitude has a certain justification in the case of those working at the theoretical frontiers of the subject, but it is certainly not helpful for the beginners. It, rather, retards them. Unless the students develop the habit of interacting intelligently with the physical environment, what they are tought in the class will not be to their advantage to the desired extent. They must train themselves to be careful observers of the simple phenomena of Nature occuring around them in their day to day life and learn to describe these phenomema, atleast qualitively, in the terminology of physics. This way they will become more and more familiar with the alphabet of physics and the discussions of the various topics in physics, instead of engendering a sense of repulsion, will appear interesting and absorbing.

Effective Teaching

Teaching is a process which possess enormous responsibility towards students. Teachers are entrusted with the job of teaching children skills that they will need for their futures. A teacher must take into account all of the student’s different learning styles, how quickly or slowly a student takes to understand a certain subject, and must understand and adapt to how a child was raised and what culture they grew up in as every child is special so as to make it effective and successful.

How to make learning irresistible

Failure is a positive act of creativity. Scientists, artists, engineers, and even entrepreneurs know this as adults. But in schools, the notion of failure is complicated.
Any practice – athletic, artistic, even social – involves repeatedly failing till one gets the experience or activity right. We need to “keep the challenge constant so players are able to fail and try again,” she said. “It’s hard and it leads to something rewarding.”But the opposite is true in school. School usually gives students one chance to get something right; failing grades work against practice, mastery, and creativity. To keep kids motivated, learning needs to be irresistible.
Few terms of gaming principle which can be applied to education:
1. Don't shoot the player while the player is learning: Students need space to think, look around, process, and reflect.
2. Learning is Social: We need to design a classroom as a community in which the participants’ knowledge is valued and the exchange of their own expertise is valued.
3. A strong sense of community creates safety:Open up space for students to interact with one another, a space for which you’ve created 1) a need to know, 2) a need to share what they know, and 3) the infrastructure for that sharing.
4. Learning that empowers the learner helps make it irresistible: Empowering a player to do something feels like a “force flows through your veins like you can change the world around you.” When we can design learning experiences that feel like that, we make learning irresistible.

Computer viruses

Computer viruses have come a long way from the early days of personal computers, when teenage hackers competed for bragging rights, creating malware designed for mischief or random mayhem. Now, the hackers have gone professional, and their ambitions have grown; rather than amateurs working out of their parents' basement, malware creators are often part of an underworld criminal gang, or working directly for a foreign government or intelligence agency. As the stakes have grown, so too has the potential damage and destruction brought on by malware.

Attitude with Altitude

“EACH DAY WE STRIVE…. WE LIVE…. WE ACHIEVE ….WE SUCCEED… BUT WE CHANGE WITH THE UPCOMING SUCCESS…..”
Our life is full of challenges. A person climbing a mountain inches every second to reach the top. Every time he moves, he gains confidence of being closer to his destination. His faith and belief in succeeding grows stronger and stronger.
In life, we strive to achieve success. Facing and overcoming the challenges we tend to be overconfident. Our attitude changes to various situations. No one is promised a life which is free from pain, sorrow or grief. It does not mean that anyone walks through these things alone. Have faith and know that all suffering is temporary. You do not have to immerse yourself in the illusion of craziness. You can create your own heaven on earth by being kind, surrounding yourself with good people, and nurturing the earth. Confidence should be retained but overconfidence will spoil your abilities to achieve further.
The definition of success is different for everyone, whether it’s personal or professional we are always looking at improving in some area of our life. We all need some inspiration from time to time. But attitude is equally essential to be maintained with the altitude you achieve in life.
“Let it go. Forget the people who make you sad. Don’t let them affect you. But never forget what they taught you. The choices you make, the struggles you face prepare you for life.

Negativity in life

We  all  have negative thoughts and negative emotions  in our life. Negative thoughts and emotions  need our attention and focus to stay alive. They cannot survive without  our  attention, to them. If we ignore them and refuse to give them any  attention, we are taking the life out of them and they will be eliminated. So every one should throw out negativity from their life.

Time Management

"Procrastination is the foundation of all disasters."
Procrastination refers to the art of replacing more urgent actions with tasks the less urgent. It is putting off impending tasks to a later time.We must, every morning, plan the transactions of that day and follow that plan. This carries a thread to success. The essence of time management is to do the important thing rather than the urgent thing. And that happens by scheduling our priorities. Until we can manage time, we can manage nothing else.

God will belong to you

Why should you doubt the fact that God will take care of you if you dedicate yourself to him? When you hand over your cloth to your tailor for stitching do you fear it may be stolen away and do you stand on guard at the tailor’s shop ? if you deposit some money  in a bank  do you take upon yourself the duty of the watchman for fear that your money might be stolen? How come that you who have trusted the tailor and the bank have no belief in god who nurses you day and night? Rest assured that if you belong to god,  GOD WILL BELONG TO YOU.

Have you ever met a student who does not want to be taught?

A strange question but a situation I have come across in my classroom situation. What I got to know was that a student does not want to be taught in two situations: first he believes that he knows more than a teacher is giving in the class and the second he has a phobia of the subject to an extent that he says I can do anything but not that subject.
When discussed with my senior I could analyze and believe that both the students can be handled effectively and efficiently.
The first type can be handled by gaining the confidence of the child and provide him opportunities to share his knowledge with the other students and solve the doubts and also provide him with some tricks and tricky questions he would enjoy solving. That will make him realize that to further enhance his skills he needs the teacher.
The second type is a bit difficult but not impossible. Make the child realize the importance of the subject first and then its real life application. After that make a note of the areas he is weak in and then starts with the easiest level and interesting real life questions he would love to work on. It’s a slow process but an effective way to curb the fear of the child and make the subject interesting for him.
The presence of such situation in the class is a great challenge but it depends how u work on and for it. All the best and happy learning.
